PEMEX prepares emergency measures to quickly reestablish supply

Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) informed that through extraordinary measures, it will be able to maintain supply of LPG gas and gasoline in the affected areas. The greatest affectation will concentrate in natural gas.
 
Personnel from the company, state and municipality protection agencies, among other emergency units controled the fires in the four areas were they broke out, and which are expected to last for some hours until the remaining product runs out.
 
Once the fire extinguishes completely, trained personnel from PEMEX will immediately begin working towards reestablishing natural gas supply.
 
PEMEX informed that the explosion took place in the following points:
 
1. Sectioning valve of the 48 inch natural gas pipeline Cactus – San Fernando, near the municipality of La Antigua, no fire was reported. None the less, due to the leak, the state protection agency is evacuating inhabitants that live near by.
 
2. Sectioning valve in the same gas pipeline as above near the Actopan river. At this point a fire broke out.
 
3. Pig trap of the 48 inch gas pipeline Cempoala – Santa Ana, near Delicias, Tlaxcala, and no fire was reported.
 
4. Sectioning valve in the 30 inch gas pipeline MinatitlanMexico and in the 24 inch LPG pipeline Cactus – Guadalajara, 12 inch products pipeline and 24 inch crude pipeline. A fire broke out in the municipality of Omealca.
 
5. Sectioning valve in the same 30 inch gas pipeline as above, 24 inch gas pipeline, 12 inch products pipeline and 24 inch crude pipeline in La Balastrera. A fire broke out.
 
6. 30 inch gas pipeline MinatitlanMexico, 12 inch products pipeline and 30 inch crude pipeline. A fire broke out.
 
As informed previously, injuries have not been reported and damage has not occurred outside of PEMEX’s facilities.
