    Alange has confirmed a discovery in the Pajarito-1X well that was drilled to a total depth of 2,002 feet to explore the oil prospectivity of the Catatumbo, Barco and Mito Juan formations in the Carbonera Block.

    BPZ Resources received an Extended Well Testing (EWT) permit and corresponding gas flaring permit, both valid through November 30, 2010, for the CX11-17D well in the Corvina field in Block Z-1, northwest Peru.

    Houston-based energy company BPZ Resources said it received an Extended Well Testing (EWT) permit and corresponding gas flaring permit, both valid through November 30, 2010, for the CX11-17D well in the Corvina field in Block Z-1.
  • Petrobras’ first-half net profits up 11%
    Brazilian state-controlled oil company Petrobras said its net profits came in at 16.02 billion reais (some $9.05 billion) for the first six months of the year, up 11 percent compared to the same period of 2009.
