  • Cuba produced 3.9 million tons of petroleum in 2006
    Cuban officials reported the island-nation produced 3.9 million tons of petroleum (oil and gas) in 2006 and that the nation continues to drill 30 exploration wells which are searching primarily for crude oil.
  • Canadian Superior commence drilling offshore Trinidad & Tobago
    Canadian Superior Energy Inc. confirmed that the scheduled refurbishment of the Kan Tan IV semi-submersible drilling rig, that has been contracted to drill three (3) back-to-back company operated offshore wells, off the east of the Island of Trinidad, for Canadian Superior, is nearing completion.
  • BG, Chevron sign gas supply deal with Trinidad and Tobago
    BG Group plc, and its partner Chevron, announced that they have entered into Heads of Agreement (HoA) with The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) for the supply of 220 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMscf/d) for a term of up to 15 years with initial deliveries beginning on January 1, 2009.
  • Pebercan: Efforts ongoing to resolve dispute with Cupet
    As part of the disclosure pertaining to its financial results for the period ended September 30, 2006, Pebercan Inc. indicated that Cubapetroleo S.A. (Cupet) was almost 2 months late in its payments owed to Peberco Ltd., a subsidiary of the company, pursuant to the procedure set out in the production-sharing and sales agreements.
