The Mexican Association of Gasoline Entities announced that the price of Magna gasoline rose to Ps 8.04 Mexican pesos per liter from Ps 7.98 on Saturday March 6, 2010, while the price of Premium gasoline rose to Ps 9.74 per liter from Ps 9.70.

The Japan Bank for International Cooperation will lend $600 million to help Mexico's state-owned Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) develop oil and gas fields in the Chicontepec Basin, northeast of Mexico City, the Nikkei reported.

The president of Mexico, Felipe Calderón, sent to Congress Mexico’s National Energy Strategy for 2010-2024, which establishes a production goal of 3.3 million barrels per day (MMb/d) for Mexico by the end of the period.
- Pemex posts $3.49 billion loss in 2009
State-owned Petroleos Mexicanos, Mexico’s largest company, said it posted a net loss of some 46.1 billion pesos (about $3.49 billion) in 2009, a figure that was 58.8 percent below the loss posted the previous year.
